Train the Trainer: Veterinary Diagnostics for LVT Faculty & Mentors (04 Jun 2012)

June 4-5, 2012
www.vet.cornell.edu/events/

Introduction

To effectively diagnose animal diseases, diagnosticians need good quality samples and good test results. This responsibility most often falls to veterinary technicians. The Train the Trainer course has been designed for faculty who help prepare these professionals as well as for veterinary technicians who are already in practice.

Plan to join faculty and staff at Cornell’s Animal Health Diagnostic Center (AHDC) for a program that will equip you with appropriate sample collection and handling techniques to maintain the integrity of samples for full-service diagnostic laboratories. Special sampling protocols will be discussed and in some cases demonstrated. We will review tips and tricks for collecting appropriate samples from clinical cases, along with shipping procedures that ensure compliance with regulations and public safety. The seminar will provide a comprehensive review that will help you prepare veterinary technicians with strategies to avoid common sampling and submission errors and others that will increase the timeliness and accuracy of veterinary diagnostic results.

Fees

The fee for this course before May 4 is $300 and includes 2 continental breakfasts, 3 snacks, lunch on Monday, a tour of the new NYS Diagnostic Laboratory on Tuesday, all lecture notes, and a certificate of completion for continuing education credit. For the most up-to-date information check our website at www.vet.cornell.edu/events/ or call 607-253-3200.

Attendance is limited. Save $50 by registering early. REGISTER NOW!
