Lynette DeGouff, LVT,
VTS anesthesiaI attended SUNY Delhi from 1992 - 1994. I graduated with AAS in veterinary science becoming a Licensed Veterinary Technician in 1994. As a LVT I worked at a Syracuse, NY Veterinary Hospital for two years before moving to Pennsylvania to work for the University of Pennsylvania at New Bolton Center, in Kennett Square, PA as a large animal clinic nurse. Nurses at NBC rotate between the clinic, ICU and neonatal ICU. I returned to New York after accepting a position at Cornell University Hospital for Animals. I work in the anesthesia department anesthetizing both large and small animals with my focus on large/farm animals. Working at Cornell has allowed me to gain the knowledge and experience to become a Veterinary Technician Specialist in Anesthesia in January of 2005.

Kathleen Bliss, LVT

NYSAVT President, 2008-2009

I am a 1997 graduate from the program at Medaille and received my license that same year.  I also hold an AAS in Agriculture Science from Alfred State, a BS in Animal Science from Purdue University, and an MALS from Excelsior College.  I have had the pleasure of being employed by Ridge Animal Hospital in Middleport right out of college, and then the Perry Vet Clinic group when I got married and moved to the southern tier of Western New York.  Both clinics worked with large and small animals.  I have been employed at Alfred State College in the Veterinary Technology program since the fall of 2001.  I believe in the value of a strong education, and that continuing education holds great value to the technicians of this state.  I live in Centerville, NY with my husband and two children, 5 horses, 2 dogs, 3 cats, 1 turtle, and 1 tortoise.  My snakes have to stay at the college…I look forward to working with the other technicians in the state and hope to serve you well.

I am a 2000 SUNY Delhi graduate and earned my license later that year. Continuing my education, I earned a Bachelor's degree in Biology in 2002 from SUNY Oneonta.  After graduation, I began working in Vestal, NY doing small and exotic work.  I then moved back home to Cortland, NY in 2003 where I currently work at Crossroads Veterinary Clinic, treating small animals and an occasional exotic pet.  My husband, Chris, and I live in Homer, NY with our cat Hooker. (PS. for those of you who are thinking bad...Hooker was born with a shortened tail that actually has a "hook" at the tip
