    Dear NYSAVT Members,
I am looking forward to a successful 2012-2013 year for the members of NYSAVT. It is amazing what can be accomplished with the continued support for the organization. Preparations are underway to provide as many
opportunities for CE across the state, including a few fall seminars and our annual Spring Seminar.

Last year’s seminar was the highest attended to date, with over 350 attendees. Save the date for the 2013 Seminar, as we plan to make it our best event yet!

Taking on the role of NYSAVT President I am passionate about supporting the continuing growth of technicians
within the Veterinary Profession. If you haven’t joined the organization it’s not too late visit the website at www.nysavt.org and become a valued member receiving updates on what is happening in the profession.
Remember to view the website to see the approved CE providers for New York State. As the applications are
completed by the state the approved CE provider list continues to grow, so when in doubt check first. There
are over 4,000 Licensed Veterinary Technicians in New York State all seeking CE opportunities so don’t wait to
    attend CE events.
    Sincerely,
    Sara Fabrizio, LVT, NYSAVT President

    Dear Member,

It is hard to believe that yet another year has passed and it is time to renew your membership for the New York State Association of Veterinary Technicians (NYSAVT). In order for us to be successful as an organization, we must have your continued support. Without you, we would be unable to represent the profession on the state or local level.

This past year has been very busy, and thanks to your support, it has been successful and productive. NYSAVT has been able to provide important services, including:

    •     Promotion of the profession within the community through participation in the New York State Fair
    •     Prevention of legislation endangering the LVT scope of practice
    •     Providing of quality low-cost continuing education through our Spring Seminar and our newly expanded Fall Seminar Program
    •     Dissemination of information about the new CE bill as we receive it

NYSAVT, collaborating with schools of veterinary technology from across the state, has made a commitment to be a leading provider of quality, low-cost CE for our membership. Members will receive CE at a heavy discount, and we promise to expand our programs to meet the educational demands of a growing field.

In the halls of government, your state association is your loudest and clearest voice. We will continue to advocate on behalf of the profession, but can only continue to be effective with a large and active membership. Please renew your membership, and make an investment in the future of your profession. Visit www.nysavt.org/apply to renew today, or download the membership form here.

Thank you for your support – without you, NYSAVT could not exist

    Sincerely,

    Sara Fabrizio, LVT
    NYSAVT President

Two deserving students received Student Scholarship Awards at NYSAVT's Annual Spring Seminar in Syracuse, NY. To be entered into the pool students were required to submit their school transcripts along with an essay about why they made the commitment to veterinary technology and what they hope to achieve as an LVT upon graduation.
